BC PNP 2026 allocation just increased by 1,000 nominations — and if you are hoping to get Permanent Residence (PR) in British Columbia, this is an update you should pay attention to.

On August 18, 2026, the B.C. Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) announced that it received an additional 1,000 nominations from the federal government.

That brings B.C.’s total 2026 BC PNP allocation to 6,254 nominations.

Even more important: the BC PNP says it plans to use its full allocation by December 31, 2026.

So what does that mean for you?

It means you should not assume that BC PNP is closed or that you have no chance simply because previous scores looked too high.

In fact, recent invitation rounds show something very interesting:

Scores have been coming down in several targeted BC PNP categories.

On August 6, 2026, targeted invitations included:

The BC PNP also issued 337 invitations on August 20 under the High Economic Impact category for candidates meeting the specified high-wage criteria. Another 265 invitations were issued based on a score of 132.
