Eligibility Criteria:

  1. For Applications on or After April 30, 2024:
    • Valid Study Permit: The primary applicant must have a valid study permit.
    • Eligible Programs: The student must be enrolled in a master’s or doctoral degree program, an eligible pilot program, or specific professional degree programs such as Doctor of Dental Surgery, Bachelor of Law, Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Optometry, Pharmacy, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Education, or Bachelor of Engineering.
    • Proof of Enrollment: Applicants need a valid letter of acceptance, proof of enrollment letter, or transcripts from the designated learning institution (DLI).
  2. For Applications Between March 19 and April 29, 2024:
    • Valid Study Permit: The student must have a valid study permit.
    • Eligible Programs: Enrolled in a master’s or doctoral degree program, or one of the specified professional degree programs (similar to those listed for applications after April 30, 2024).
    • Proof of Enrollment: Provide a letter of acceptance, proof of enrollment letter, or transcripts from the DLI.
  3. For Applications Before March 19, 2024:
    • Valid Study Permit: The student must have a valid study permit.
    • Eligibility for PGWP: The student should be eligible for a post-graduation work permit.
    • Full-Time Enrollment: The student must be enrolled full-time at a public post-secondary school, a private college-level school in Quebec, a Canadian private school authorized to award degrees, or an institution offering vocational training in Quebec.
    • Proof of Enrollment: Include a letter of enrollment, transcripts, and a copy of the study permit.
  4. For Extending Existing Open Work Permits:
    • Valid Study Permit: The student must have a valid study permit.
    • Eligibility for PGWP: The student should be eligible for a post-graduation work permit.
    • Full-Time Enrollment: The student must be enrolled full-time at a public post-secondary school, a private college-level school in Quebec, a Canadian private school authorized to award degrees, or an institution offering vocational training in Quebec.
